Who are we?
We are a 2018 planted Reformed Baptist church in Jyväskylä, Finland and part of the Fellowship of Reformed Baptist Churches in Finland (srby.fi).
We gather as the people of God to joyfully worship our Triune God every Sunday morning. Our services are simple and contain reading of Scriptures, praying, singing, expository preaching, enjoying the Lord’s Supper and fellowship of the saints.
We usually gather at 10 am, but there might be exceptions, especially during summertime. Check the church calendar to find up-to-date information.
God-Centered Worship
We believe that traditional worship is in line with the clear teaching of the Bible. Worship is to be glorious and reverent, lifting our minds in praise, thanksgiving, repentance, dedication, intercession, and the hearing of God’s Word.
Sola Scriptura
We believe the Lord’s people must subject themselves with regard to life and doctrine to the authority of the Word of God. True churches must stand on the Word of God, defend and preserve the truth at all costs, without a compromise.
Serving Church
We try to honour Christ by being a serving church. This means that all true believers serve the Lord by joining together in activities that bring glory to Him. With this emphasis, a church may carry out outreach efforts, and so on. Christians are not just a ‘Sunday audience’ but a company of committed, dedicated workers for the Lord.
Doctrinal Basis
Doctrinally, we hold to the 1689 London Baptist Confession of Faith and to the confession of our fellowship of churches. Our confession of faith can be read here.
This list short list gives the reader a general picture of the tradition in which our church stands.
We invite you to come and join in our worship services. We pray that through his word and with the fellowship of the saints, you will grow in the grace and truth of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.
Every Sunday
Worship service (in Finnish) at Polttolinja 35, Jyväskylä at 10.00am (exceptions may occur! Please check the finnish main page to be sure). We gather in Satamaseurakunta’s premises.
